Over these past few years I have become a bit of a neat freak…with some caveats. Only my areas are clean. I generally don’t care about any other area but my own. Today I tried something new. I decided to walk the halls of my place of employment and clean up a bit. The halls get a little unruly. I must admit…I do enjoy doing this in September when the halls begin buzzing with activity. I find all sorts of cool pens, pencils, notebooks, other miscellaneous office supplies. I stock my drawers with my righteous finds! I did a little of that today too. I may claim these supplies, but I never clean the messes that accumulate in the hallways.
I wanted to walk the halls and make ’em sparkle, but there wasn’t much to pick up. I actually did two loops at two different times. Why were they so clean? Did someone beat me to my good deed? Is the new guy showing off by keeping the hallways fresh and clean?
Not that this is important, but the highlight of my trash collecting was finding a brandy new Ticonderoga pencil…it’s the champagne of pencils people!
How do you keep your place of employment clean?
